SCS INSTALLATION TIPS

Always have an Installation Kit. Mine includes:

* Small screwdrivers (flat and phillips head)
* tweezers
* long-nose or needle-nose pliers
* small cutter blade
* small LED light or flashlight
* spare JG Black or Guarder HOP RUBBER
* small piece of ultra-fine sandpaper

Issue: no response or SCS not working

causes:

* Deformed Hopup Rubber

solution: use your spare hoprubber to diagnose, if this is the culprit then replace hopup rubber with GUARDER. (CA, SYSTEMA, SRC are also good choices)

* Old hopup nub is still in place

solution: take it out

* Barrel "square" window not properly aligned - i have encountered this with a stock JG G36c barrel. Factory defect, check if window window is off-center. (must be aligned with hopup rubber barrel slot)

solution: Replace barrel

* Broken Hopup ARM (happens to AKs)

solution: replace hopup arm

* Hopup Chamber Burr or imperfection - notice the place where your hopup arm and scs are located? It has a rectangular hole. Sometimes ACM versions have burrs or excess plastic that hinders your scs from properly engaging the hoprubber.

Technical Info from FAS part 7 Hop-upburrs

solution: Simply use a cutterblade to remove these imperfections.

* Hopup Chamber too Tight

solution#1 use ultra-fine sandpaper and sand both sides of the SCS as even as possible, use extreme caution, if this is not perfectly done then you could ruin the SCS!

solution#2 sand the edges of the rectangular hole so that the SCS can freely move

now remember... since most of us have ACMs... you shouldn't expect a perfect match (JG sucks in the hopup chamber manufacturing by the way)
If you encounter issues, please carefully analyze your hopup chamber for imperfections because the smallest detail can affect performance.

and lastly... If you have a new hopup rubber... spray a thin layer of silicone oil to condition the rubber before installing.
